Intelligence Analyst III - Temporary position

About the role

Under the general direction of the Embedded Intelligence Services (EIS) department, the Intelligence Analyst III will support the analytical needs of a major client engagement. The Analyst will work directly with their Manager and the EIS team to produce analysis that addresses client-specific requirements and will be available to travel to client locations as needed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required on a case-by-case basis.

This is a temporary remote position based at the Crisis24 Annapolis, MD office or remote, starting mid-September 2026 through mid-January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor open-source media, third-party subscription services, and other sources in real time for issues that could affect business operations and personnel.
• Perform open-source intelligence collection and analysis of regional trends and events to provide timely, comprehensive, customized intelligence products to decision makers.
• Develop client-specific intelligence products including:
  • Travel Threat Assessments
  • Location Threat Assessments (Neighborhood-, City-, or Country-level)
  • Site Threat Assessments
  • Event Threat Assessments
  • Requests for Intelligence
  • Daily Incident Assessments or Intelligence Products
  • Threat Forecasting
  • Scenario Forecasting
  • Social Media Monitoring
  • Online Exposure Assessments
• Liaise with the client to better understand their requirements and concerns, and understand the client’s operational footprint.
• Manage client expectations by understanding the EIS team's product offerings and limitations.
• Establish and maintain positive professional rapport with other analysts, subject matter experts, and client contacts.
• Support manager in tracking metrics around production.
• Assist in managing emergency incidents by using judgment and skills in accordance with commonly accepted incident management best practices and client policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in intelligence analysis, threat assessment, incident response, or a related field.
• Excellent research skills and the ability to mentor analysts in how to research and evaluate sources.
• Exceptional analytic writing skills and the ability to mentor other analysts in analytic writing.
• Excellent verbal briefing skills and the ability to mentor other analysts in verbal briefing.
• Ability to mentor other analysts in analytic skills.
• Subject matter expertise in a location, security-related topic, or analytic process is a bonus.
• Foreign language and travel experience required.
• Customer service experience required; ability to support complex engagements a plus.
• Experience overseeing other analysts' work is a plus.
• Experience leading projects with several other analysts.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Fast learner and ability to multitask.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work with little supervision.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Google Earth and Maps.

This position focuses on geopolitical risk, global threat intelligence, and monitoring events that could disrupt client operations, including political, economic, social, and security factors, as well as natural events such as severe weather and other disasters. The role emphasizes qualitative research, investigative analysis, and intelligence reporting rather than technical, IT, cybersecurity, data analytics, or business intelligence functions.
