About the role

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking an Intelligence Analyst III for Strategic Threat Assessment and Risk. The role serves as the primary or secondary interlocutor between the intelligence analyst team and client representatives, incorporating client operational and policy requirements into intelligence operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all-source intelligence analysis of the threat environment using classified and open-source reporting for assigned geographic regions, with emphasis on technical espionage threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Applies qualitative and quantitative analytical risk-management methodologies to assess risks to overseas diplomatic facilities.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop effective risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinates information-collection efforts to improve the quality, accuracy, and relevance of threat reporting.
  • Leads the compilation of threat information into periodic reports supporting operational planning for overseas missions and domestic stakeholders.
  • Provides written and verbal briefings to executive-level leaders and other Department of State personnel.
  • Develops, maintains, and engages with liaisons across intelligence, law-enforcement, and international communities; collaborates with analysts across these domains.
  • Participates in Department and interagency committees, conferences, and working groups to support the protection of national-security information, facilities, and personnel at diplomatic locations.

Requirements

  • Current U.S. Government final Top Secret security clearance and qualified for SCI access; eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required security clearance/access approvals.
  • Federal employee currently or previously assigned to the GS-0132 series (or contractor equivalent) with at least one (1) year of experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience as an Intelligence Analyst II in Strategic Threat Assessment and Risk, or equivalent, with demonstrated ability to maintain command and control of intelligence analyst staff.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Current or previous experience as an all-source intelligence analyst in the intelligence or law enforcement communities for a minimum of one (1) year; or
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a Security Engineering Officer or Regional Security Officer in the Diplomatic Security Service; or
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a credentialed or certified technical security expert, counterintelligence agent, or technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM) practitioner; or
  • Four (4) years’ service in the U.S. Armed Services in one or more of the following:
    • US Army: 35x series
    • US Air Force: 14Nx, 1Nxxx series
    • US Navy: 181x, 183x, 681x, 683x, 781x, 783x, CTx, IS
    • US Marine Corps: 02xx, 26xx series
  • Proven ability to lead a group of analysts with varying levels of expertise, including the full range of managerial tasks required in a medium-sized office environment.
