Intellectual Property Senior Counsel

About the role

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an Intellectual Property Senior Counsel with a minimum of eight years of experience, preferably in a technology, manufacturing, or transportation context. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Computer Software, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, and possess an active bar license or be committed to obtaining one.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with attorneys in the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation business unit.
• Participate in the development and prosecution of patent applications.
• Provide strategic advice on intellectual property matters.
• Manage and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.
• Contribute to the growth and success of the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation practice area.

Requirements

• Minimum of eight years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience in patent law and/or technology law.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited institution.
• Active bar license or commitment to obtain one within six months.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Commitment to the community and professional development.

Pay

The compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $190,000 to $240,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.

Schedule

The position offers a flexible billable-hour requirement.
