Intel Correctional Officer (#014646) Broad River CI, Columbia (RICHLAND) Level III

Job Responsibilities

• Gather, collect, and assess intelligence related to security threats.
• Surveillance of designated groups.
• Monitor and identify inmates who are seen associating with gang members.
• Interview and verify photographs have been taken of all new arrivals.
• Complete paperwork/packets on inmates who are suspected to be involved in gang activity.
• Auxiliary Contraband staff in searching cells of suspected gang members.
• Maintain accurate records of all confiscated items such as written material containing code and symbols.
• Complete other tasks assigned by the Statewide STG Coordinator or STG Task Force Supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must not have offensive or gang-related tattoos, with exceptions for those on the neck.
• Must pass a medical assessment administered by SCDC.
• Must successfully complete the correctional officer basic certification course within 6 months of placement into the position.

Pay

The salary range is $54,682 - $55,704, based on years of current agency service plus incentive structures at SCDC. Not all individuals may qualify for the highest tier of base pay adjustments and incentives.
