About the role
The Integration Technician will play a key role in the integration of sales orders to meet customer requirements. Daily duties include managing technical sales order build-outs. These orders would encompass servers, storage, networking, and rack build-outs to meet customer outcomes and ship dates.
Responsibilities
- Configure servers, storage subsystems, networking devices, and workstations.
- Integrate hardware and configure software applications to customer requirements.
- Perform racking, stacking, cabling, and documentation of rack build-outs.
- Manage customer sales orders to meet the required ship date.
- Update firmware, BIOS, and configurations to meet customer requirements.
- Install operating systems and hypervisors.
- Perform imaging and asset tagging of customer assets.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support.
- Communicate with sales teams about any impact on order status.
- Aid with customer questions regarding systems.
- Conduct technical research (online, telephone, or documentation).
- Troubleshoot system configuration conflicts.
Qualifications & Interests
- Minimum Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three years of related experience and/or training.
- Experience working in a Windows environment as well as Linux.
- Demonstrated competency in conducting technical research to support troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical support to sales staff and customers is required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Must be professional both in appearance and demeanor. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to be flexible and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
