Integration Engineer 3

We are seeking Integration Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As an Integration Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

Responsibilities

• Work with data/process/data owners and consumers to understand desired application capabilities and explain limitations in non‑technical terms.
• Build and maintain the underlying operational aspects of the platform, including remediating vulnerabilities.
• Monitor platform support Slack channels and address customer questions and issues.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest Google Workspace features and best practices, implementing updates and improvements as needed.
• Continuously improve file storage process, governance, audit, legal & retention practices and standards.
• Work within and across lines of business teams to intake, provision, and deploy solutions.
• Lead the availability, resilience and scalability of the platform.
• Collaborate closely with the Architecture team to align platforms to the latest architecture and configuration.
• Encourage innovation, automation, cutting‑edge technologies, inclusion, outside‑of‑the‑box thinking, teamwork, self‑organization and diversity.
• Develop and utilize best practices to enhance the overall user experience of the platform.
• Utilize scripting languages like HTML, Python, SQL, Robo‑copy.
• Apply working knowledge of container orchestration services (Docker, ECS), configuration‑management tools (Ansible, Terraform), and a variety of AWS tools and services.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to ensure software works seamlessly on the platforms.
• Leverage strong experience in application security, logging, monitoring, auditability of access controls, and data security and integrity.
• Apply experience in content‑management technologies for data classification, labeling, encryption, pipelines and automation.
• Provide excellent written and verbal communication on technical topics and issues.
• Utilize integration knowledge and REST API experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting or maintaining cross‑platform integrations or system connectivity.
• At least 3 years of experience developing or supporting API‑based integrations using scripting or orchestration tools.
• At least 1 year of experience driving testing, testing frameworks, or integrating new platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working in a cloud‑based environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 3+ years of experience with deployment tooling (Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory).
• 3+ years of experience in Agile practices.
• Experience managing identity and access within systems.
• 4+ years of experience implementing or maintaining API‑based integrations.
• Experience collaborating with architects or platform teams to define integration frameworks and reference architectures.
• 2+ years of experience automating infrastructure or system configuration using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• 2+ years of experience administering Google Workspace or a similar enterprise productivity suite.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog) to ensure integration performance and resiliency.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading small integration‑focused initiatives.

Pay

Salary ranges (full‑time annual) by location:

• McLean, VA: $131,300 – $149,800
• New York, NY: $143,200 – $163,500
• Plano, TX: $119,400 – $136,200
• Richmond, VA: $119,400 – $136,200

Candidates hired in other locations will receive the pay range associated with that location. The role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
