About the role

The Manager of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) leads all aspects of logistics planning, sustainment strategy, and lifecycle support for a Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) mission. This role ensures mission systems are supportable, maintainable, and ready for field deployment and long-term sustainment. The ILS Manager drives logistics integration across engineering, program management, fielding, and sustainment teams to create a modern, resilient support architecture for next-generation Army command and control capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lifecycle Sustainment Planning - Develop and execute comprehensive ILS strategies aligned with DoD acquisition and modernization goals. Lead logistics analyses supporting system design, readiness, sustainability, and maintainability. Manage development of Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), logistics strategies, and sustainment documentation.

  • Configuration, Maintenance, and Supply Support - Oversee development of maintenance concepts, provisioning, and supportability analysis. Coordinate spares planning, supply support documentation, and technical data development. Ensure system configurations are logistics ready, properly documented, and sustainable.

  • Fielding, Training, and Supportability - Support fielding strategies, New Equipment Training (NET), and training support package development. Oversee provisioning data, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and maintenance task analysis. Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure training needs align with system design.

  • Technical Data & Documentation Management - Manage logistics technical data, including manuals, provisioning lists, and sustainment artifacts. Lead the development and review of IETMs/IETDs and technical publications. Ensure logistics data accuracy, auditability, and compliance with DoD standards.

  • Stakeholder Integration & Coordination - Serve as primary liaison with government logistics organizations, fielding teams, and sustainment commands. Coordinate logistics inputs with engineering, program management, configuration management, and test teams. Support system readiness reviews, design reviews, and test events with logistics representation.

  • Modernization & Innovation - Incorporate digital engineering, predictive readiness analytics, and advanced sustainment tools. Drive continuous improvement in logistics processes, data accuracy, and sustainment modeling. Assess future logistics requirements to support evolving fielded capabilities.

  • Risk Management & Sustainment Assessment - Identify logistics risks. Conduct sustainment assessments and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: BA/BS degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Graduate degree preferred but not required.

  • Experience: 8+ years of ILS/logistics experience in a Defense environment. Experience developing or managing sustainment products across the full system lifecycle. Demonstrated experience with LCSPs, provisioning, maintenance planning, and sustainment analysis. Experience working with Army or joint service logistics systems preferred. Experience supporting system fielding, training, and deployment activities.

  • Knowledge & Technical Skills: Understanding of Defense acquisition logistics frameworks and sustainment policies. Experience with LORA, FMECA, MTA, provisioning, supply support, and technical publication development. Familiarity with logistics information systems (e.g., FEDLOG, LIW, GCSS Army). Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability, and supportability engineering principles. Ability to interpret engineering and technical data for logistics application.

  • Leadership & Communication Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional logistics teams and coordinate with engineering, PMs, and field operations. Strong communication skills for briefings, sustainment presentations, and readiness reporting. Ability to manage multiple logistics efforts across complex modernization programs.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:

  • Industry Expertise & Tools: Experience supporting C5ISR, command and control, or tactical Army systems. Familiarity with digital engineering models and logistics digital twins. Experience with product support analysis tools, provisioning software, or readiness modeling tools. Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement frameworks.

  • Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:

  • Advanced Logistics Skills: Background in obsolescence management and long-term sustainment planning. Ability to analyze logistics data and develop readiness dashboards or performance metrics. Experience coordinating logistics considerations during test events (DT/OT).

  • Communication & Integration: Strong ability to translate technical requirements into logistics impacts. Experience working directly with sustainment commands or field support activities. Skilled in developing user-friendly logistics training materials or documentation.
