About the role
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved with design, fabrication and testing of high precision astronomical spectrographs. The candidate should be familiar with standard nanophotonic fabrication techniques and tools and be comfortable working individually and within team.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- A strong background in technology development
- Experience with spectrograph design and fabrication
- Knowledge of nanophotonics and spectroscopy

Strong skills in:
- Design and fabrication of nanophotonic devices
- Optical spectroscopy
- Self-referencing techniques for frequency stabilization
- Working independently and as part of a team

Pay
