Integrated Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC)

About the role

The Integrated Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) position at Waterfall Community Health Center (WCHC) is part of a primary care team focused on providing trauma-informed and evidence-based care to a diverse patient population. The role involves short-term counseling and consultation, as well as comprehensive behavioral services.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to WCHC's mission and core values.
• Provide trauma-informed and evidence-based counseling services, including brief assessments and interventions.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling, provide referrals, and coordinate with community partners.
• Keep accurate and timely records, including comprehensive documentation of all patient interactions.
• Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and supervisors, and adapt communication strategies to manage high-stress situations.
• Collaborate with the Psychiatric and Primary Care Providers to address mental health and psychosocial issues.
• Participate in team meetings and daily huddles to review patient care.
• Manage patient communications through various channels, including phone calls, MyChart messages, and in-person interactions.
• Maintain a safe and confidential environment for staff and patients, adhering to HIPAA standards.
• Support program goals to reduce cultural and socio-economic barriers.
• Perform other duties as needed to support WCHC's vision, mission, and organizational values.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Ability to become registered with the MHACBO as a QMHP or hold an Unrestricted Oregon License and credentials as an LCSW, CSWA, LPC, LPC Registered Associate, LMFT, PsyD, or Ph.D.
• Comprehensive training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention completed within 6 months of hire and recertified before expiration.
• Experience working in a mental health care setting with a low-income population preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) fluency preferred.
• Current First Aid or BLS Certification or completion of training within 6 months of hire.
• Immunizations required, including TB test upon hire.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
