About the role
The Receptionist provides general reception and clerical support services for the facility in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner, adhering to Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations, Oceans' mission, policies and procedures, and Performance Improvement standards.
Responsibilities
- Answer switchboard and assist in other clerical tasks as needed by administrative personnel.
- Answer phones with appropriate etiquette and operate switchboard with timeliness.
- Display a willingness to help others and self-direction by seeking solutions to problems.
- Demonstrate commitment to customers and the organization.
- Handle stress constructively, take direction well, accept constructive criticism, and respond accordingly.
- Use appropriate customer etiquette.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- 1 year of experience working as a general receptionist.
- Experience with computers required.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must work well with diverse populations.
- Must utilize age, disability, and cultural-specific knowledge to communicate effectively with specialized populations.
- Must be in good physical and mental health, demonstrating a warm, empathetic attitude and respect for the dignity, worth, and potential of clients.
- Must hold a high sense of personal integrity.
- Must be able to work under close supervision.
- Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans-approved behavioral health de-escalation program.
Work Environment
- Subject to many interruptions and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
- Can be high-paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically with the atmosphere.
- Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
