Intake Program Internship

Brief Description Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities Intake program interns engage in a variety of responsibilities under the supervision of PAWS Chicago staff. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to: Handling dogs and cats during intake assessments; behavior and medical evaluations.Recording behavior and medical observationsCapturing photo and video of our animals as directed by Intake Program ManagerWriting copy for social media and web promotions and email communicationsEnsure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the animal file as a result of the intake process. Requirements Passion for animals and belief in our mission to create a No Kill Chicago.Excellent written and verbal communications, with the ability to represent the mission, goals, policies, and core values of PAWS Chicago in a sincere and energetic manner.Experience in animal behavior, handling or care is preferred.Experience in social media marketing and communications a plus.Ability to adapt, work collaboratively with a team, and solve problems proactively.Organizational skills and attention to detail.Commitment to a high level of customer service.Basic computer skills, including e-mail and Microsoft Office.
