The Village Legal and Community Project (TVLCP) is hiring an Intake Coordinator. The Intake Coordinator is responsible for managing the initial client intake process for TVLCP, ensuring that potential clients are accurately assessed and connected to the legal staff for services.
Job Description
Client Assistance: Answer intake phone line and review online application for legal services, check voicemails, and timely return calls.
Initial Screening: Conduct telephone interviews to gather basic case information, assess eligibility, and determine if the client’s needs align with the organization’s services.
Case Management: Register clients in the electronic case management system, enter and maintain client records, and track all calls.
Referral & Scheduling: Offer referrals to other services if appropriate, and schedule initial consultations with attorneys or paralegals.
Administrative Support: Perform clerical tasks such as mailing communications, copying, or scanning documents, maintaining case files, and preparing reports.
Support for Legal Teams: Assist attorneys and outreach staff with intake-related administrative duties to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, attention to details, prioritize work, and work under pressure.
Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and case management systems.
Empathy & Cultural Competence: Sensitivity to diverse client needs and backgrounds.
