Intake Coordinator -Days

Be the first point of connection for people seeking behavioral health care. Gateway Regional Medical Center is looking for a PRN Intake Coordinator to join our Behavioral Health Services team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for behavioral health services from referral sources, community members, and prospective patients
• Complete initial clinical screenings covering medical, psychosocial, and mental health information
• Collaborate with physicians and psychiatrists to determine appropriate care recommendations
• Facilitate voluntary and involuntary admissions for inpatient psychiatric care
• Obtain initial insurance authorization from providers
• Work both on-site at Gateway Regional and at contracted facilities in the surrounding community

Requirements

• Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing, or a related field - or an Illinois RN license with previous behavioral health experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Willingness to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training within 1 month of hire
• Previous acute behavioral health treatment experience
• Working knowledge of community behavioral health resources
• An understanding of and appreciation for the physical, social, and psychological needs of patients across the lifespan - from pediatric to geriatric

Pay

Competitive pay: $27.76–$41.65/hr, based on experience and qualifications
