About the role
Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Access Intake Clinician to join our Access Team. This role involves triaging individual service requests, providing immediate crisis referrals, and offering information on community resources. The clinician will perform clinical interviews and intake assessments, complete intake documentation, and facilitate transitions for clients.
Responsibilities
- Triage individual service requests, provide immediate crisis referrals, and offer information on community resources for those not meeting entry criteria.
- Perform clinical interviews and intake assessments using culturally responsive practices, and determine initial diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
- Complete required intake documentation and supplemental assessments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of KMHS services, community resources, Medicaid eligibility, and application processes to support clients in accessing the care they need.
- Facilitate transitions for clients by collaborating with KMHS departments and community partners.
- Conduct outreach assessments as needed and travel to satellite locations to support clients in various settings.
- Provide efficient, evidence-based clinical services, documenting accurately in the electronic health record.
- Actively participate in Access Team activities, fostering positive relationships with all agency departments.
Requirements
- Intake Clinician I: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field, experienced (five years of direct client care under the supervision of a master’s level mental health professional with an active license), Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor (eligible for this license upon hire).
- Intake Clinician II: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field, experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience), Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (eligible for one of these licenses upon hire).
Qualifications
- Intake Clinician I: Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) preferred.
- Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.
- Licenses: Full or Associate Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker License preferred.

- Access Intake Clinician I: Hiring Range: $29.58 - $36.97 Per Hour
- Access Intake Clinician II: Hiring Range: $32.53 - $40.67 Per Hour
