Intake Assessment Coordinator - RN
Responsibilities
- Perform initial medical screening
- Perform admission assessments
- Absorb, direct, and intervene in crisis situations
- Medical Screenings - Perform nurse to nurse screening by phone on patients being transferred from other facilities
- Obtain/document pre-certification on admissions as necessary
- Basic Medical Triage: skin check, wounds, etc.
Qualifications
- Education: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferable in an inpatient setting
- Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed to practice by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
- Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomatology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis behavior management
