Intake Assessment Clinician

Collaborate closely with our dedicated clinical team to determine the best treatment placement and provide support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Receive inquiry calls and assist callers with scheduling face-to-face assessments or triage to the most appropriate community resource.
• Screen for medical and behavioral emergency conditions through the completion of a comprehensive assessment to determine the most appropriate therapeutic level of care for mental health, substance abuse, or dual diagnosis needs.
• Coordinate with the on-call provider/clinical team to ensure the most appropriate placement either at the facility or through referral to community resources.
• Work with the patient and support system throughout the assessment process to alleviate concerns for care and treatment recommendations.
• Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
• Fulfill administrative duties to ensure assessment and admission processes are thorough and complete.
• Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
• Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or coordinate hospital admission arrangements.
• Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
• Make follow-up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a human relations field is required.
• Licensed to practice in the State of Washington as a mental health professional (Social Worker, Counselor, or RN with MHP).
• Preferably two or more years’ experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ post Master’s Degree experience in a psychiatric setting including customer contact.
• Working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam, as well as working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field.

Pay

This is a Per Diem role and the expected compensation range is $40-$45 per hour.
