Intake and QA Coordinator - Licensed Therapist
Location: Normandie Village | Exempt | Non-Union | Reports to: Program Director
About the Role
Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center, a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, provides comprehensive mental health services for children, adolescents, transitional aged youth, and adults suffering from mental illness. The Intake and Quality Assurance Coordinator oversees referrals, admissions, and discharges for Normandie Village, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports the clinical and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care. This role may also include a small caseload of clients, requiring adherence to all Gateways’ and regulatory agency requirements for service delivery. Candidates must be independently licensed or eligible to sit for their licensure exam.
Responsibilities
- Admissions & Discharges:
- Maintains and grows the census for all service lines.
- Serves as primary contact and liaison for referring agencies, ensuring all required information is received and disseminated to facilitate client admissions and discharges.
- Maintains active and effective liaison with community agencies and initiates collateral contacts for continuity of care.
- Completes pre-placement assessments (e.g., client interviews and documentation) in compliance with Gateways’ and DMH standards.
- Collaborates with DMH Liaison and treatment teams to coordinate client discharges.
- Quality Assurance:
- Maintains detailed knowledge of agency paperwork, documentation, record-keeping, and billing procedures to meet quality assurance standards.
- Monitors and evaluates program policies and procedures for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops and implements policy updates to maintain compliance.
- Completes monthly/quarterly QI reports and ensures submission to the QI Director and Program Director.
- Prepares and presents in-service training.
- Clinical:
- Provides on-call coverage for emergency consultations and interventions outside regular work hours.
- Assists with facilitating psychiatric holds and hospitalizations as assigned.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date clinical charts, including assessments, progress notes, treatment planning, and discharges.
- May carry a small caseload, including individual, group, family psychotherapy, case management, and/or consultations/collateral contacts.
- Meets monthly contracted service delivery expectations.
- Assists the Program Director in program development and administrative functions as needed.
