Insurance Verification Supervisor

Rotating Shifts will be 8 hours

About the role

Supervise the day-to-day job functions of the Insurance Verification team and collaborate with other department leadership and teams to achieve the best streamlined processes to impact our patients in a positive way.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, integrate, and develop department employees in conjunction with Company objectives and the Select Medical Way.
  • Assist the CBO Director in developing, counseling, and coaching the team.
  • Provide continual feedback to employees both inside and outside of the formal feedback processes.
  • Manage the team’s workflow and provide expertise, guidance, and leadership for the employees.
  • Oversee daily and monthly reporting of productivity and other key metrics for team members within assigned job functions.
  • Understand all performance targets and communicate, educate, and motivate the team to achieve those targets.
  • Maintain knowledge of all functions and processes within the Insurance Verification and Website Coordinator Teams.
  • Communicate and train team members on procedures and policies set by CBO Supervisor, Manager, Director, and Sr. VP Patient Accounting.
  • Assist with completing insurance verification requests as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between team members and management for policy, procedures, and processing issues/inquiries.
  • Represent job function in monthly meetings.
  • Ensure appropriate rules and regulations are followed with regard to insurance verification.
  • Work directly with Central Business Office and Directors of Admissions to identify and resolve specific contract/benefit issues.
  • Ensure compliance of procedures for data integrity, continuous cash flow, and improved customer service in relation to HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED is required.
  • Insurance Experience - minimum of 2 years is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or accounting OR equivalent combination of experience and education (preferred).
  • Previous team leadership experience (preferred).
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work with multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Good interpersonal skills including: face-to-face, verbal, electronic, and telephonic.
  • Professional Skills:
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Organized.
    • Good time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to reach mutually established goals.
  • This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.
