Insurance Transactional Associate

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an Associate with 2-5 years of experience to work with its Insurance Transactions & Products practice group in the New York or DC office. The practice is ranked as “Band 2” with Chambers USA and provides advice to Fortune 500 clients and industry-leading companies on transactional and regulatory compliance matters.

About the role

The Associate will join a team advising a broad range of clients, including financial services companies, life and annuity insurers, property and casualty insurers, and reinsurers. The role involves extensive client interaction and responsibility for transactional and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

• Handle transactional matters, including M&A transactions and reinsurance.
• Advise on asset management issues involving structured classes of assets and fee structures.
• Provide regulatory compliance advice to Fortune 500 and industry-leading clients.
• Assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice.

Requirements

• Two to five years of law firm or in-house experience.
• Experience with financial services company M&A transactions; insurance and reinsurance experience is especially valued but not required.
• Working knowledge of M&A transactions and reinsurance.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong academic record.
• Client-service mindset and ability to work in a detail-oriented, professional manner.

Pay

The salary range for this Associate position is $225,000–$420,000, commensurate with years of relevant experience and geographic location.

Schedule

The position requires in-office presence three days per week.
