About the role

A growing legal practice is seeking an experienced Attorney to join its Houston office. The ideal candidate will have experience defending first-party insurance claims and litigation, with a strong background in homeowners insurance matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Defend first-party insurance claims and related litigation.
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Analyze claims, legal issues, and case strategies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents.
• Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials as needed.
• Maintain accurate case files and meet all deadlines.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing with the state bar.
• Experience in first-party insurance defense litigation.
• Experience defending homeowners insurance litigation preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and advocacy abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
