Insurance Coverage Position

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Partners and other attorneys on a broad range of insurance coverage matters and litigation.
• Analyze insurance policies and evaluate coverage issues involving both first-party and third-party claims.
• Draft comprehensive coverage opinion letters regarding CGL, property, and other insurance policies.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation-related documents.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations regarding coverage disputes and litigation matters.
• Advise clients on insurance coverage issues, policy interpretation, claims handling, and risk exposure.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, coverage assessments, and litigation strategy.
• Draft detailed reports, status updates, and legal analyses for clients and carriers.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and deliver high-quality legal services.
• Handle multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
• Represent clients in coverage-related disputes and contribute to successful case outcomes through strong advocacy and legal analysis.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to practice law in the State of Illinois and in good standing.
• Minimum of 4 years of insurance coverage litigation experience.
• Strong experience drafting coverage opinions involving Commercial General Liability (CGL), property, and other insurance policies.
• Experience handling both first-party and third-party insurance claims.
• Demonstrated coverage analysis, legal research, and persuasive writing skills.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex insurance coverage issues.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts.
• Experience managing client relationships and providing practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
