Insurance Coverage & Litigation Associate

About the Role

Ropers Majeski’s growing and dynamic insurance practice has an opportunity for an Insurance Coverage & Litigation Attorney with a minimum of four years of coverage experience to join our Los Angeles office. The position offers flexibility to work remotely or in the office.

Responsibilities

• Drafting coverage opinions
• Reviewing and analyzing claim documents
• Reviewing and assessing policy language
• Litigating declaratory judgment and bad faith actions in California and many other jurisdictions
• Providing a wide range of insurance coverage services to clients, including updating policy language
• Handling declaratory judgment and bad faith litigations from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing
• Experience with both state and federal court proceedings

Requirements

• JD degree with excellent academic credentials
• Minimum of four years of solid experience handling coverage matters and litigating declaratory judgment and bad faith actions
• Experience providing coverage assessments to clients, including experience with private equity, fiduciary, errors and omissions, D&O, and other professional liability policies as well as commercial general liability and property policies
• Current CA Bar admission in good standing is required

• Base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000
