Insurance Coverage Attorney
About the role
A motivated and dynamic Associate with four to six years of insurance coverage experience is needed to support the national and international coverage practice of Kennedy's, a Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked global law firm.
Responsibilities
- Advising insurance companies in a variety of coverage matters
- Representing insurance companies in coverage disputes
- Analyzing coverage issues
- Drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions
- Conducting discovery in insurance coverage litigation
- Taking and defending depositions
- Attending court conferences
- Arguing motions
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of insurance coverage experience. They should have experience analyzing coverage issues, drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions, and conducting discovery in insurance coverage litigation. The ideal candidate also will have taken and defended depositions, attended court conferences, and argued motions.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in California. Experience in insurance coverage law is required, and candidates should have a strong academic record.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, excellent writing and research abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal research tools are preferred.
Benefits
Competitive salary and benefits package offered. Remote working arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Attorney compensation ranges from approximately $150,000 to $220,000 annually. Salary is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
