Insurance Coverage Attorney

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our New York office. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoy handling sophisticated insurance coverage and litigation matters for a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies and coverage issues
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and declination letters
• Handle insurance coverage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and discovery
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and depositions
• Communicate directly with insurers, insureds, and opposing counsel
• Manage case files independently while collaborating with partners and team members

Qualifications

• J.D. - Active admission to the New York Bar
• 3+ years of insurance coverage and/or insurance defense experience preferred
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Experience handling complex litigation matters is a plus
• Able to manage deadlines and multiple matters effectively
• Professional, client-focused communication skills
