This position is based in Phoenix, AZ or Sunrise, FL and requires working a minimum of 3 days onsite and 2 days remotely. The ideal candidate will work a flexible schedule between the hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 5:00pm MST, and may be asked to work rotational weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and research claims using available tools, including receiving inbound calls and making outbound calls to settle claims.
  • Communicate via written and/or direct phone interaction with customers to ensure timely decisions.
  • Make decisions on claims for products and embedded benefits associated with AMEX ASSURANCE COMPANY.
  • Maintain state compliance.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Customer Service experience.
  • Proven Customer First Principles through excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Passion for outstanding service and strong phone skills.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid changes in workflow.
  • Demonstrated initiative with minimal supervision to achieve results.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Superior level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in PC skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. (the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Travel and Medical Claims experience.
  • Insurance, Medical, or Travel Industry experience.
  • A current Claims Adjuster License. If a license is not currently held, the applicant must be able to obtain the necessary license during the allowed timeframe prior to training. Upon hiring, the candidate will have 3 attempts to pass the Arizona Licensing exam. Failure to pass within 3 attempts will result in termination of employment.
