About the role

Austin Industrial is seeking an Insulation Leadman to apply, remove, and repair insulating material on various surfaces and structures such as air ducts, pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings to control noise and maintain temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and select required insulation material.
• Work at heights safely.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive applications to insulation material.
• Determine amounts and select appropriate insulation material (e.g., fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, urethane) based on heat retention, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape using tools such as handsaws, knives, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap, or attach insulation material around structures following blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape using staple guns, trowels, paintbrushes, or caulking guns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience in insulation.
• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States (Austin Industrial cannot sponsor employment visas for this position).
