About the role
The Instrumentation Technician will support a government customer at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Only US Citizens are eligible to apply. The position involves maintaining instruments for oceanography projects, moving instruments, and managing the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize software, particularly 3M software
- Support operational readiness of oceanographic data collection systems
- Prepare, maintain, and deploy remote maritime instruments and unmanned underwater systems
- Manage data collected from these systems
- Perform quality control (QC), testing, pre-deployment setup, and physical movement of oceanographic instruments and unmanned underwater systems
- Provide comprehensive support functions for warehouse and logistics, including instrument and unmanned system repair, testing, and documentation
- Office and technical services: Perform instrument and unmanned system repair, testing, and documentation of instrument and/or unmanned system tracking and status
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience with instrumentation maintenance and support
- AAS or higher in Electronics Technology or related field preferred; 5+ years' operational experience may substitute for a degree
- Desired experience with software maintenance
- Desired experience with 3M software and wavemeters
- Forklift experience and certification
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Current secret clearance or higher required
