Job Responsibilities
- Supervises the calibration of all flow metering equipment in the water and wastewater systems.
- Verifies that new meter installations meet manufacturer requirements for accurate flow measurement.
- Observes and ensures subordinate employees observe safe work practices.
- Assists subordinate employees with troubleshooting and repairing of instrumentation equipment.
- Attends plant inspections with TCEQ to provide required meter calibration records.
Job Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience in process control and/or measurement systems in industrial or utility environment.
- Valid Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman from State of Texas is preferred.
- Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Obtain certification(s) from meter manufacturer(s).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must have a working knowledge of all types of flow meters and level devices.
- Must possess knowledge of computers, software, and hardware.
- Must be proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams and drawings.
- Must have the ability to comprehend, carry out and administer written and oral instruction.
Environmental and Physical Working Conditions
- Driving a District vehicle for business will be required.
- Working around electricity and liquids above and below ground level.
- Outdoor activities may involve exposure to hot, cold, dusty, chemical hazardous, dirty, and/or noisy conditions.
- Activities may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, carrying, dragging up to 50 pounds of equipment.
- Tools to be used include hand tools, power tools, calibration and maintenance equipment, measuring devices, and field verification units.
