Instrumentation Technician - Ozone

Job Responsibilities

• Supervises the calibration of all flow metering equipment in the water and wastewater systems.
• Verifies that new meter installations meet manufacturer requirements for accurate flow measurement.
• Observes and ensures subordinate employees observe safe work practices.
• Assists subordinate employees with troubleshooting and repairing of instrumentation equipment.
• Attends plant inspections with TCEQ to provide required meter calibration records.

Job Requirements

• Minimum three years of experience in process control and/or measurement systems in industrial or utility environment.
• Valid Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman from State of Texas is preferred.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Obtain certification(s) from meter manufacturer(s).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must have a working knowledge of all types of flow meters and level devices.
• Must possess knowledge of computers, software, and hardware.
• Must be proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams and drawings.
• Must have the ability to comprehend, carry out and administer written and oral instruction.

Environmental and Physical Working Conditions

• Driving a District vehicle for business will be required.
• Working around electricity and liquids above and below ground level.
• Outdoor activities may involve exposure to hot, cold, dusty, chemical hazardous, dirty, and/or noisy conditions.
• Activities may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, carrying, dragging up to 50 pounds of equipment.
• Tools to be used include hand tools, power tools, calibration and maintenance equipment, measuring devices, and field verification units.
