Instrumentation Technician - 2nd shift - Sign-on Bonus Offered!
About the role
The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the testing, calibration, installation, repair, and inspection of manufacturing control and monitoring devices. This role supports continuous improvement by ensuring accurate measurement systems and reliable instrumentation across operations.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate all equipment under the responsibility of the Instrumentation Department, maintaining calibration schedules and accurate records in accordance with company procedures
- Cook up and oversee outside calibration vendors, including purchase order accuracy, customer requirement flow-down, and verification of completed work
- Perform periodic calibration of secondary standards traceable to NIST, documenting results per company standards
- Interpret and analyze instrumentation abnormalities, correct deviations, and perform necessary repairs
- Support Maintenance with troubleshooting of complex electrical systems, motor drives, hydraulic controls, rectifiers, power supplies, and water-cooling systems
- Maintain leak detectors and assist with leak checking when Production or Maintenance requires support
- Install new instrumentation or modify existing equipment as directed by Facilities Engineering and/or Maintenance
- Lay out and construct electronic circuits using schematics, making modifications as needed to ensure proper functionality
- Troubleshoot electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
- Maintain working knowledge of computers and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including loading and verifying programs
- Train and assist employees on the use and operation of new instruments and control equipment
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision
Requirements
- Associate Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school OR
- One year of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in manufacturing, foundry, metal casting, and/or vacuum processing environments is a huge plus
Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints
- Solid foundation in mathematics and measurement concepts
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with computers and software (GagePack, Microsoft Office, maintenance systems)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and decision-making ability

Pay
Pay Range: Starting at $26.47 with potential to make more based on your experience, education, and shift. We also have available overtime.
