Instrumentation Supervisor - Lilly Medicine Foundry
About the role
The Calibration Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the company's assets are managed in compliance with cGMP and other applicable standards. This position oversees all calibration activities, manages a team of instrument technicians, and aligns maintenance programs with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Sets expectations for a positive & proactive safety culture, ensuring all team members are knowledgeable and compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits, and practices.
- Initiates and leads accident, near miss reviews and incident notifications. Ensures proper housekeeping procedures are maintained.
- Manages daily activities of the calibration and instrumentation team including attendance, overtime, resource planning, operational issues, performance management, development planning, and reporting of results.
- Develops initial processes and requirements for the calibration team in preparation for operation.
- Ensures quality of calibration and maintenance plan execution. Main point of contact for calibration/instrumentation and responsible for escalation of any issues.
- Responsible for team training and development and ensuring team is current on training prior to assigning work.
- Responsible for calibration KPI’s associated with team’s performance.
- Aligns team priorities to support production schedule and equipment availability.
- Interfaces with customers to ensure alignment and effective prioritization of maintenance activities.
- Maintains monitoring of business and execution processes to ensure work is performed in conformance with site and corporate goals.
- Reviews a subset of executed Work Orders.
- Owes incident reporting, investigating, and corrective measures.
- Responsible for maintenance staffing including recruitment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 5+ years of industrial calibration or instrumentation experience in a leadership or supervisory role, FDA regulated industry preferred.
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience required.
- Regulated GMP manufacturing experience required.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and calibration, including the following: Instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, pH), Electrical s equipment (flukes, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.), Electrical troubleshooting (24 VDC to 120 VAC).
Qualifications
- Basic computer proficiency.
- CMMS experience desired.
