Instrumentation Engineer
About the role
WindWright, a subsidiary of Stratolaunch, is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer II to support the development, implementation, testing, and operation of instrumentation and control systems at WindWright. This role involves selecting, configuring, and installing sensors and data acquisition systems, creating data acquisition programs, and performing or coordinating sensor calibrations.
Responsibilities
- Provide recommendations for data acquisition system and broader control system architecture
- Design data acquisition systems to collect and process data from various sensors
- Develop and implement data acquisition software and hardware solutions
- Ensure data acquisition systems meet accuracy, reliability, and performance standards
- Select and configure appropriate sensors for various applications based on performance requirements and environmental conditions
- Create and maintain instrumentation wiring diagrams
- Perform, document, and maintain sensor calibrations
- Set up and conduct bench tests to validate instrumentation system functionality
- Identify, document, and communicate design requirements, constraints, and risks
- Support the preparation of business proposals to the US Government and industry
- Travel, as needed, to support the company
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in sensor technologies and data acquisition systems
- Strong understanding of calibration procedures and instrumentation testing methodologies
- Ability to obtain a security clearance at the TS/SCI level
