About the role

The Instrumentation Drafting/Design Leader will lead the Instrument Drafting and Data Management capability across North America. They will partner with engineering, construction, and operations teams to drive instrumentation design standards, data integrity, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of internal employees, 3rd party and remote business partners to execute instrumentation drawings and data management activities within capital projects, construction and daily operations.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s Instrumentation drawings and data within Hexagon Smart Plant Instrumentation.
  • Develop data and work process driven business visions to support business needs.
  • Develop and execute drawing and data management best practices, and work processes across the company.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, efficiency, and work processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of instrumentation drawings, databases, and related documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of leadership or supervisor experience.
  • Hands-on experience using Hexagon SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software.
  • Experience in a support or shared-services organization providing technical/customer support.
  • Experience performing instrumentation and electrical (I&E) drafting and design in a chemical or industrial process facility.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Engineering applications including (AutoCAD, Autodesk Vault, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Smart Plant systems).
  • Experience using an Electronic Document Management System.
  • Knowledge across aspects of document and data management practices, software, and training development.
  • Database management experience (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).

Skills

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Hexagon SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement best practices in data management.
