Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Data Centers)

This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S.-based office, but we intend to hire the best candidates regardless of location.

About the role

Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects focused on designing state-of-the-art structures within Advanced Facilities. Become a member of a vibrant, dynamic team that delivers world-class designs for well-known clients around the world. You’ll be accountable for developing Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) following ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology, and panel design including panel layout and wiring diagrams. You’ll also manage demanding project schedules, prepare accurate reports, and demonstrate communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects designing state-of-the-art data center, semiconductor, and other manufacturing facilities
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings of industrial facility control systems
• Work within global multidisciplinary teams
• Manage time efficiently across multiple projects

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering
• Experience in instrumentation and controls
• Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• 2+ years of BIM design experience
• Experience using BIM360, Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing data center, semiconductor, and other industrial facilities
• Familiarity with controls, electrical panels, and cable tray
• Familiarity with instrument placement

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $58,200.00 to $80,000.00; pay will be hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
