About the role
This role is part of a two-year apprenticeship program that builds on your previous instrumentation education and experience. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to obtain an Oregon LEB Electrical License and will move up to the Journeyman Instrument Rate, currently set at $57.59 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Performing preventive and predictive maintenance inspections using diagnostic tools and test equipment and making necessary corrections to keep equipment from failing under supervision of a journeymen
- Writing work orders, recording maintenance results, and reading and updating drawings and other documentation
- Calibrating, configuring, installing, and troubleshooting transmitters, actuators, valves, positioners, meters, testers and other instrumentation and controls under supervision of a journeymen
- Facilitating and assisting in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of premature failures, offering solutions and implementing corrective actions preventing reoccurrence
- Demonstrating troubleshooting skills that allow our equipment to operate as designed in accordance with OEM specifications
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in mill safety program
- Practicing the MBM® guiding principles to create continuous transformation and positive growth
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with computers
- Experience with PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers)
Qualifications
- Advanced degree/certification in engineering, electrical/mechanical systems, paper manufacturing, or reliability
- Experience in Work Order Planning, and BOM updates and development in SAP2
- 1 or more years of experience in the pulp and paper industry
- 2 or more years of experience in maintenance or reliability
- Experience with basic mechanical maintenance and/or machine troubleshooting
Skills
- Ability to perform root cause analysis
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and test equipment
- Experience with PLC's
