About the role

We are seeking a motivated Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems across a variety of industrial and utility projects. This role is ideal for an entry to mid-level technician who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within the I&C field. You will work under the direction of Lead Technicians and Supervisors while contributing directly to field execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test instrumentation and control wiring, panels, and devices
  • Aid with calibration and commissioning of instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, etc.)
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and schematics
  • Troubleshoot control systems, including PLC-based systems and associated components
  • Support startup and commissioning activities at project sites
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on I&C equipment
  • Accurately document work performed, including redlines and field reports
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment

Qualifications

  • 1–5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls, electrical, or related field
  • Basic understanding of industrial control systems and instrumentation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with installation and termination of low-voltage and control wiring
  • Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout Florida and work in outdoor/industrial environments
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in water/wastewater, utilities, substations, or industrial facilities
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Instrument calibration experience
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Field-based role requiring travel to project sites across Florida
  • Work may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments
