Position Summary
Will manage the Instrumentation & Controls department, work under the direction of the office manager. Supports daily project management, client interface, and provides direction to engineers and designers on the on-time and quality-controlled project specifics.
Basic Duties
- Prepare, and review technical drawings, calculations, conceptual and detailed designs, methods and materials specifications, electrical and instrumentation equipment application.
- Responsible for complete designs of Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Identify proper selection and specification of equipment and instruments associated with the process and control system.
- Lead and manage all aspects of project scope, objectives, schedule, productivity, and budget.
- Provide leadership and mentor less experienced engineers. Will resolve day to day questions.
- Support of procurement and construction activities.
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years progressive experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field, with a PE.
- Familiarity with Modicon, Allen-Bradley Programmable Controllers, Schneider’s Unity Pro, Wonderware, Citect and other platforms will be a plus. DCS experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of ISA (International Society of Automation) standards.
- Understanding Industrial Network Architecture for Distributed Control Systems.
- Experience with electrical conceptual designs, methods and materials specifications.
- Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software such as Revit, and MS office.
- Previous experience with network and heavy industrial process communication systems is preferred.
- Preference that candidate is be able to travel, domestically & internationally, to other M3 offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects.
- Must be able to work in a project team and maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
- Must be able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner and work in a team environment sharing roles and responsibilities, with limited supervision.
- A valid passport or the ability to obtain one is required.
