About the role
We’re seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our Latham, New York team. In this role, you’ll contribute to projects that power the core operations of our clients, including cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing and advanced research facilities. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you’ll help design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world-class solutions for new facilities. Our group is recognized as one of the leading design teams in the design of semiconductor facilities, delivering innovative solutions that enable the next generation of technology. This position offers hands-on experience and expert mentorship to help you grow your technical skills and understanding of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Develop P&IDs
- Size valves
- Specify instrumentation
- Panel design
- I/O assignments
- Document and model design information
- Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
Requirements
- At least 8 years of work experience designing Instrumentation and Control Systems
- Working knowledge of PLC, PAC, DDC, DCS systems
- Ability to work onsite (hybrid) in Latham, NY
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (ideal)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) (ideal)
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for buildings and construction

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
