Instrument Fitter Journeyman

Responsibilities

• Determine methods and materials needed for assigned maintenance, repair, or construction tasks.
• Perform lock-out and tag-out procedures to secure switch gear and deactivate equipment.
• Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts or components.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain equipment.
• Remove and replace operating components.
• Calibrate, tune, and adjust equipment to meet established tolerances.
• Install new and used equipment such as controllers, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and analytical instrumentation controls.
• Calibrate, tune, and balance control loops and hardware routinely.
• Follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Work in operating facilities, observing additional safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Master Journeyman: Minimum 4 years' experience in craft and holds a State Journeyman Electrical License, State Electrical License, or Industrial Electrician certification from NCCER.
• Journeyman: Minimum 4 years' experience in craft.
• Must provide Safety Toe Boots and appropriate/approved hand tools.
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights and abide by safety and fall-protection requirements.
• Good vision and hearing (either naturally or with correction).

Pay

$45 / hour, commensurate with experience.
