Instrument Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Instrument Engineer to join our team! Our Instrument Engineers support projects for new and/or replacement instruments and assure they are fit-for-purpose. We support investigations where measurement issues may be a contributing root cause, and we develop specifications and standards for instruments. In this role, you will support authoring and maintain configuration specifications for manufacturing equipment for the production of our life-changing products. When & Where Location: Troy, New York, United StatesWork model: Onsite Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Discover Your Role Operate as a project manager; plan, execute, and close projects within scope, time, and budget constraintsSpecify cGMP process instrumentation, components, and spare partsSet priorities for and complete Calibration Range and Tolerance Justifications forms for new instrumentsEvaluate new instruments for Functional Equivalence to existing instrumentation that has become obsoleteReview and approve input/output lists for automated systemsConduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex instrumentation and associated systemsCreate and maintain configuration specifications for cGMP manufacturing equipmentAssist in the design review of equipment, and approved supplier lists for instrumentationWrite and execute test plans to demonstrate instrument suitabilityImplement corrective/preventative actions for existing equipmentPrepare engineering evaluations and test plans for change control documentationPossibly supervise engineering contractors This Role Requires BS/BA in Engineering; Electrical Engineering preferred and the following minimum years of relevant experience engineering experience for each level:Instrument Engineer: 2+ yearsSenior Instrument Engineer: 5+ yearsUnderstanding of common process instrumentation, including load cells, pressure transmitters/gauges, pH sensors, dissolved oxygen sensors, temperature sensors, mass flow meters, UV analyzers, conductivity sensors, TOC analyzers, and level sensorsDemonstrated ability to guide the prioritization, coordination, and completion of multiple projects within tight timeframes, while maintaining a high level of attention to detailAbility to think independently to make quality decisions based on analyzing available and potentially limited informationExperience utilizing advanced problem-solving methods and leadership for investigationsDirect experience with biopharmaceutical process equipment is highly desirableUnderstanding of process control systems and automation is preferred Level will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role Does this sound like you?
