Instrument and Electrical Specialist

Job Scope

The I&E Specialist serves as the technical integrator and coordination point between instrumentation and electrical technicians and site functions including Engineering, Projects, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Warehouse, and Production. The role ensures that I&E work is technically sound, safely executed, properly planned, and aligned with operational priorities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associate Degree required
• Significant experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (petrochemical, chemical, refining, or similar)
• Demonstrated, hands on experience across instrumentation, electrical systems, and PLC based controls
• Proven ability to technically bridge field execution with engineering, planning, and operations

Skills And Knowledge

• Strong working knowledge of industrial instrumentation, electrical power and motor control systems, and PLC based controls
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and one line drawings
• Experience supporting PLC, DCS, and SIS interfaces, including troubleshooting field devices and control logic interactions
• Understanding of control loops, interlocks, protective systems, and startup/testing practices
• SAP maintenance system experience preferred
• Effective communicator who can translate technical details between technicians, engineers, planners, and operations
