Instructor, Tenure-track, Practical Nursing Program

Summary Of Duties

Under the supervision of the Director, the Instructor, Tenure-Track Practical Nursing faculty will be responsible for successfully performing the professional duties of both didactic and clinical instruction.

As full-time faculty, this position will assist the Director in mentoring adjunct faculty and the continued development of the program.

Qualifications

• Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Holds a minimum of three office hours per week.
  • Advise and register students when indicated.
  • Participate in: Student learning outcomes assessment activities, Accreditation activities, Discipline and Program meetings, College Committee work, Maintain active involvement with: Adjunct faculty using individual and group discussion meetings, and with students through regularly scheduled student advising sessions.
  • Perform other professional duties as directed and/or approved by the Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Experience teaching in the specific discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern pedagogical technology and its use in the classroom.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide diverse teaching methods to differing learning styles.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and the ability to teach students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
