Snapology is a leading children’s enrichment franchise offering flexible, part-time hours, competitive pay, and a supportive environment focused on creativity, teamwork, and STEAM learning for ages 2–14. Programs are mobile, conducted in schools, libraries, homes, and community centers across Nassau County, Long Island, and Westbury.

About the role

As a part-time Instructor/Teacher, you’ll lead engaging, hands-on STEAM programs that foster problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. You’ll represent Snapology to parents and children with professionalism, manage classroom behavior, and encourage enrollment in future programs. Most shifts begin at 3 PM on weekdays, with additional weekend workshops, birthday parties, summer camps, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided STEAM activities
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom rules
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with Snapology’s policies
  • Encourage and monitor individual student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Prepare for each program by reviewing curriculum, training videos, or attending in-person sessions
  • Respond to parent inquiries about Snapology programs and encourage future enrollment
  • Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings

Requirements

  • Current criminal and child clearances
  • 2+ years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp setting
  • Education degree or teaching experience recommended; candidates pursuing an education degree will also be considered
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven reliability and punctuality

Pay

$40.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Part-time, 2–10 hours per week depending on candidate availability and seasonal demand
  • Weekday after-school and/or evening classes (most shifts start at 3 PM; preschool programs earlier)
  • Weekend workshops and birthday parties
  • Summer camps, holiday/break workshops, and special events
