About the role
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Surgical Technology.
Responsibilities
- Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
- Teach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
- Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.
- Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.
- Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox.
- Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend.
- Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
- Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities.
- Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
- Work with students as academic advisor as assigned.
- Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Associates degree
- Current Surgical Technology certification
- At least two years' experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
- Minimum Bachelors degree in a health-related field
- Central Sterile Processing certification
- Prior work experience at a community college
- Prior academic teaching experience in a health care field
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff, and student population
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA and HIPPA
Pay
$48,421.00 - $60,526.00 depending on experience
