About the Role
This position serves as a unit educator, master teacher, and preceptor, facilitating evidence-based research and integrating nursing processes into patient care plans for diverse age groups. The role involves providing educational leadership, developing clinical skills through a master clinician/preceptor model, and maintaining clinical proficiency by instructing students and assisting with staffing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement educational strategies to enhance specialized patient care
- Develop and coordinate patient care plans based on current research and standards
- Serve as a clinical resource and consult with multidisciplinary teams
- Educate staff on new equipment and procedures, and coordinate in-service training
- Assist patients and caregivers with education, problem-solving, and health management
- Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration and care coordination
- Monitor educational outcomes, quality standards, and patient safety
- Participate in ongoing professional development and ensure adherence to safety policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN or MSN) required; Master’s preferred
- Minimum 18 months of relevant experience
- Valid RN licensure and CPR certification
- Instructor certifications in required clinical competencies within 90 days
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in potentially hazardous environments
