About the Role
Teach Respiratory Care courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies. Instruction may occur on any of the campuses, via distance learning, and during days, nights, weekends, or a combination of these.
Responsibilities
- Develop, revise, and maintain course materials and curriculum through objectives, outlines, and instructional materials.
- Recommend and design new programs.
- Maintain regular office hours and exhibit effective classroom management.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve teaching proficiency.
- Engage in College and community activities, promoting the mission and goals of the College.
- Develop and implement retention strategies.
- Assist in graduate placement and attend graduation ceremonies.
- Support student advising and registration.
- Serve on College committees.
- Assist the department chair with administrative responsibilities.
- Submit reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in respiratory care from an accredited institution.
- At least five years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including two years in critical care.
- Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Active membership in the AARC (American Association for Respiratory Care).
- Current South Carolina license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
