About the Role

Teach Respiratory Care courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies. Instruction may occur on any of the campuses, via distance learning, and during days, nights, weekends, or a combination of these.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, revise, and maintain course materials and curriculum through objectives, outlines, and instructional materials.
  • Recommend and design new programs.
  • Maintain regular office hours and exhibit effective classroom management.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve teaching proficiency.
  • Engage in College and community activities, promoting the mission and goals of the College.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies.
  • Assist in graduate placement and attend graduation ceremonies.
  • Support student advising and registration.
  • Serve on College committees.
  • Assist the department chair with administrative responsibilities.
  • Submit reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in respiratory care from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including two years in critical care.
  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Active membership in the AARC (American Association for Respiratory Care).
  • Current South Carolina license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
