Instructor Pool- POLITICAL SCIENCE AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

About the Role

The College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CASSH) maintains an ongoing instructor pool to meet program needs. If selected, you will join a vibrant academic community committed to student success, preparing students for meaningful careers and global citizenship. UW-La Crosse does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
• Prepare for and hold classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online), maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment
• Evaluate students' work, assess student outcomes, and provide regular and substantive feedback on student work
• Maintain appropriate records and hold office hours
• Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
• Serve as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
• May involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department
• Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree, or, in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position
• Depending on the program, specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required
