Position Profile

The College of Science & Health (CSH) at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse seeks to fill an Instructor Pool position in the Department of Computer Science & Computer Engineering. This is a terminal (fixed-term) position.

Job Duties

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Responsibilities include preparing for and holding classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online), maintaining currency in the content area, evaluating student work, assessing student outcomes, providing feedback, maintaining records, and holding office hours. Additional responsibilities may include advising students and/or providing other service to the department.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree, or, in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a combination of a baccalaureate plus experience, can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position.
  • Specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required depending on the program.

Key Job Responsibilities

Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, assess student performance, develop instructional design and curriculum, and serve as an initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations.
