Instructor (Phlebotomy)

Responsibilities

• Train and provide continuing education to Collection Services staff on all blood collection procedures, including medical history, donor lookup, phlebotomy, quality control, apheresis, and CPR.
• Ensure trainees receive appropriate clinical experience, safely perform required skills, and successfully complete competency testing.
• Plan and guide the learning process to help students achieve required objectives within the allotted time frame.
• Maintain open communication with supervisory staff and keep them informed of employee progress.
• Create schedules, input student data, and generate reports and statistics.
• Travel to donor centers and mobile drives to conduct competency evaluations and retraining, requiring adequate transportation.
• Adhere to all regulations and requirements set forth by the FDA, AABB, CBC, and departmental policies and procedures.

Schedule

This position must be available to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and requires regular full‑time attendance during normal working hours.
