Job Summary
Classroom Instructor
Job Duties
- Teach diagnostic medical sonography courses
- Develop and implement lesson plans
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
- Participate in department meetings and professional development activities
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Imaging or a related area
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Three (3) years full-time experience as an American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered sonographer
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging or a related area
- Five (5) years full-time experience as an ARDMS registered sonographer
Physical Requirements
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries and complaints
- Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism and adjust focus
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism in most difficult phases
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, talk, and hear
- Occasionally reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts
- May work in a laboratory
- Must follow safety rules and regulations, operate appropriate laboratory equipment, and tolerate the presence of laboratory chemicals
- Noisy environment
