Job Summary

Classroom Instructor

Job Duties

• Teach diagnostic medical sonography courses
• Develop and implement lesson plans
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
• Participate in department meetings and professional development activities

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Imaging or a related area
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Three (3) years full-time experience as an American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered sonographer

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging or a related area
• Five (5) years full-time experience as an ARDMS registered sonographer

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
• Ability to respond effectively to inquiries and complaints
• Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques
• Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking
• Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism and adjust focus

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
• Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism in most difficult phases
• Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, talk, and hear
• Occasionally reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs

Work Environment

• Near moving mechanical parts
• May work in a laboratory
• Must follow safety rules and regulations, operate appropriate laboratory equipment, and tolerate the presence of laboratory chemicals
• Noisy environment
