Position Summary
This division is home to the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, apply innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction, assess student learning to ensure student success, stay abreast of trends in the discipline, and collaborate within the College as discipline experts.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Teaching courses as assigned by the College
- Available to teach daytime, evening, and weekend classes, as needed
- Available for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email or special appointment if necessary
- Participate with producing documentation relating to program accreditation standards to achieve and maintain accreditation
- Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence
- Keep appraised of external agency regulations and changes to regulations that directly impact a particular curriculum
- Assess student learning and participate in assessment of the PTA program
- Continue professional development in area of contemporary clinical expertise and in teaching/learning strategies
- Maintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college and grant purposes in a timely fashion
- Maintain and submit accurate attendance records
Required Qualifications
- Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices
- Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred
- Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
